    Nota Biográfica

    Micaela Almeida, Biomedicina PhD, Chief Scientific Officer of Clinical Academic Center of Beiras, develops her research in breast cancer and infertility at Rise Health - UBI. Her PhD, FCT funded, at University of Beira Interior was developed at CICS-UBI and IPATIMUP on collaboration with ULS Cova da Beira. The PhD project was related to Genetic Polymorphisms and Metabolic imbalance in Breast Cancer and was developed under the scope of the research group of Professor Luiza Breitenfeld at CICS-UBI in collaboration with the group of Glycobiology in Cancer of IPATIMUP. The supervisor was Professor Luiza Granadeiro (CICS-UBI) and co-supervisors are Professor Ana Cristina Ramalhinho (CICS-UBI) and Professor António Polónia (IPATIMUP). Before Micaela started her PhD, she graduated (BSc and MSc) in Biomedical Sciences at University of Beira Interior, and developed the research in COX-2 expression in Breast Cancer, under the supervision of Professor José Fonseca Moutinho. Micaela Almeida is author of several peer reviewed published papers, attends, regularly to national and international congresses and has awards such as best oral communication and best poster. Besides translational research in Breast Cancer, Micaela Almeida was coordinator of Clinical Trials and developed works in science communication, scientific/clinical design and scientific/clinical events. Micaela Almeida is also co-founder of inSci. Micaela Almeida is member of several civil organizations and is always in strict contact with the community.
