Mariana Matias is graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences since 2011 and PhD at the University of Beira Interior since 2018. After a Community Pharmacy experience, Mariana was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Research Institute for Medicines (iMed.ULisboa), integrated in the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon. At this moment, she plays a role as Medical Writer in Phagecon and as Invited Assistant Professor in the University of Beira Interior. Over the years, her main scientific interests have been Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaco-toxicology, Nanotechnology and Therapeutics, and has mainly worked on the design, chemical synthesis, biological evaluation and nanoformulation of different heterocyclic compounds. Mariana published several papers in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters and was authored/co-authored of several communications at scientific meetings (12 oral communications and 29 poster presentations). She co-supervised several students and has participated as jury of academic degrees in courses of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology and Industrial Chemistry.
