The UNITA Rural Mobility is an internship program for students enrolled in one of the UNITA Partner Universities. It offers internship opportunities to be carried out in institutions, companies, and municipalities of rural communities in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, and Romania during the Summer period.
The program aims to create new synergies in education, research, entrepreneurship and to produce a net-positive impact on rural and mountainous areas across Europe.
Who can apply
Students enrolled in the academic year 2023-2024 in:
- Undergraduate degree courses (registered at least in the 2nd curricular year)
- Master’s degree courses
- PhD degree courses
from one the Universities integrated in the UNITA – Universitas Montium consortium:
- Universidad de Zaragoza (Spain)
- Universidad Pública de Navarra (Spain)
- Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour (France)
- Université Savoie Mont Blanc (France)

Where is located the University of Beira Interior
The University of Beira Interior (UBI) is a public university located in the city of Covilhã, Portugal.
Internship offers available in 2024
The internships associated with UBI are offered by local partners situated in the municipality of Covilhã and in neighboring municipalities.

Duration of internships
The period of each internship is defined by the Partner University/Hosting Institution. The duration is between 4 weeks and 3 months, between June and September 2024.
Recognition
The “UNITA – Rural Mobility” program within the UNITA – Universitas Montium Consortium project is considered a training experience for the internationalization of the academic career. In this regard, the recognition of the activities carried out during the mobility must be agreed by completing the “Learning Agreement for UNITA Rural Internship”.
For the purposes of recognition, each student must submit within 3 weeks after the completion of the mobility to their respective UNITA / International Relations Office the relevant documentation certifying the activity carried out (“Certificate of Traineeship”, or final section of the “Learning Agreement for UNITA Rural Internship”, called “After the mobility”).
Support offered by local partners
The host institutions offer free accommodation and one meal per day.
Insurance and responsibility
The participant must have adequate insurance coverage (health, travel, accident and civil liability, repatriation). It is the participant’s responsibility to clearly inform themselves about insurance issues. All information concerning insurance is entirely dependent on the legal and administrative provisions of the host country. The participant is responsible for signing any mandatory insurance prior to arrival in the host country. On the moment of signing the Rural Mobility Grant Agreement, the participant shall provide a proof of signing the insurance, valid for the entire mobility period, according to the legal and administrative provisions of the host country.

- Requested language certificate
- CV (Europass model recommended)
