CMA, Centre of Mathematics and Applications, is a research unit in Mathematics and Applications, hosted by University of Beira Interior (UBI). UBI provides the requested facilities, budget management, computing support and institutional framework to wards CMA’s activities.
The mission of CMA is to achieve scientific excellence in research and innovation within Mathematics
- CMA has been contributing to new developments in different areas of Mathematics (Algebra, Geometry, Analysis, Probability and Statistics) and applications (namely, Physics)
- CMA is also committed to the dissemination of Mathematics, presenting it as a fundamental discipline for the development of society at all levels.
Moreover, CMA is particulary focused to find synergies with industry, business enterprises, non-profits and government agencies.
CMA is the sole research unit in mathematics and theoretical physics located in the interior centre and north of Portugal and has achieved scientific excellence, unequivocal academic merit and broader international impact in its areas of research through a committed collaboration among its members.
