Graduates of the postgraduate degree in Senior Occupational Safety Technician acquire the necessary skills to exercise the profession of Senior Occupational Safety Technician and are able to develop, coordinate and control the activities of prevention and protection against occupational risks.
In addition to the certification of the knowledge required to become a Senior Occupational Safety Technicians (defined in the respective professional profile that characterizes it), it incorporates the recognition and validation of social, relational, and professional skills, at the level of knowledge, to-do and to-be.

Graduates of the postgraduate degree in Senior Occupational Safety Technician are able to:
-Collaborate in the definition of the company's general policy regarding risk prevention, and planning and implementing the corresponding management system;

-Designing, programming, and developing prevention and protection measures;
-Technically coordinate the activities of occupational safety, ensuring the framework and technical guidance of professionals in the area of occupational safety;

-Promote the information and training of workers and others involved in the workplace;

Occupational profiles of graduates
|
The Senior Occupational Safety Technician can work as part of a multidisciplinary team in the design, implementation and management of occupational health and safety systems.
Within the scope of this theme -Safety, Hygiene, and Health at Work-, they may have an operational fieldwork role and eventually perform functions related to the Environment and Quality.
In a country where most of the business fabric is small or medium-sized, more companies are taking on these professionals, due to the risky work environment and prevention culture.
The postgraduate degree in Senior Occupational Safety Technician corresponds to the certification of the Professional Title of Senior Occupational Safety Technician level VI (former Professional Aptitude Certificate) by ACT (Authority for Working Conditions) (Law No. 42/2012 of 28 August).

Learning facilities
|
The course is given in an after-labor regime in the facilities of the Department of Electromechanical Engineering and at the Center for Training Interaction UBI Business Fabric (CFIUTE).
The teaching activities take place in classrooms, amphitheaters, laboratories and computer rooms.
