The University of Beira Interior will have Year Zero in the academic year 2015/2016. Its main goals are to allow students to contact with higher education and preparation for the entry national examinations.
The attendance of Year Zero is intended for students who have concluded the 12th grade or equivalent, for candidates who have attended the 12th grade at least once, even if they have not obtained approval to two subjects (maximum), and for foreign students who wish to deepen their knowledge of the Portuguese language.
Three exclusive curricular units were created for the Year Zero: exam preparation of mathematics and/or physics-chemistry and Portuguese language course (for foreigners). The candidates admitted to Year Zero may enrol up to 30 credit units.
