Profile of the programme

The course of Informed Choices in Energy has as main objective increase the energy literacy of consumers. The course has a strong practical component, and it aims to present the most efficient strategies and alternatives for energy consumption. Therefore, several available support programs and application processes for the adoption of energy efficiency measures will be presented and discussed. The main goal of the course is to enhance the knowledge of electricity consumers regarding energy efficiency strategies and measures, which could be then adopted in their daily routines, as well as implemented in the energy management of buildings. |
Key learning outcomes

The course aims the development of theoretical and practical skills in the subject of energy literacy. At the end of the course students should be able to: 1. Apply the acquired knowledge in the choice of efficient measures in energy consumption; 2. Use tools of simulation and comparison of the different energy suppliers, namely of electricity and gas; 3. Promote their empowerment as a consumer, encouraging the shift in electricity consumption patterns, as well as increasing their willingness to apply energy efficiency programmes.

Learning facilities
|
The course has the support of UBI infrastructures, namely of the FCSH. The course will be taught in a hybrid regime, where live sessions have the opportunity of attendance in a remote way by zoom. The exception is the last session, where living attendance is mandatory, as it will hold the presentation of final works. The necessary material is a laptop with access to internet and writing material.
