Profile of the programme
|
The creation of the cycle of studies which conducts to the degree of doctor in Electrical and Computer Engineering had the main concern to allow that the students who conclude the course of Master in Electrical and Computer Engineering as well as students who attend others M.Sc. courses in related areas, either national or international, can guide their formation at the University of Beira Interior (UBI) to a third study cycle that leads to the Ph.D. degree. In this way one aims, through the activities of research and development (R&D) to be carried out during the doctoral studies, to contribute not just to a more international dissemination of the Science produced in Portugal, but also to the creation of staff with high technical and scientific profile and capable to carry out autonomous scientific work in the fields which are covered by the Department of Electromechanical Engineering. |
