Learning outcomes The main goal of the Experimental Activities in Research laboratories curricular unit is to allow students to learn advanced techniques and to understand the concepts necessary for the application of experimental methodologies that will be used during the development of his PhD plan study.
At the end of this curricular unit the student should be able to:
Apply scientific knowledge and technical expertise to advanced laboratory techniques in the field of chemistry; Follow safety procedures and use the laboratory equipment properly; Show appropriate behavior on the use of specific laboratorial techniques, including teamwork and time management.

Syllabus Frequency of theoretical or practical courses on experimental techniques considered relevant to the doctoral project, taught in UBI or another institution.
Main Bibliography Each student should look for the pertinent bibliography related to the work he is carrying out with the help of his supervisor.
Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The teaching process of this curricular unit will be students focused, where its active participation in the learning process will enable further development of their skills for reasoning and self-assessment. The teacher guides students in searching relevant Information to perform the experimental work that will be integrating the acquired concepts in the execution of techniques, as well as in data analysis, interpretation of results and troubleshooting.

The final grade is based on a presentation of a report elaborated about an experimental technique addressed and executed by student and the work advisor to give an opinion on the valuation of the work done by the student.
