Semester S2
ECTS Credits 6
Workload T(30H)/TP(30H)
Scientific area Chemistry
Mode of delivery Classroom teaching
Learning outcomes It is intended that students learn the fundamentals of organic chemistry and develop knowledge in some areas of General Chemistry, in particular, the application of the concept of chemical equilibrium to acid-base reactions, oxidation-reduction reactions and solid-liquid equilibrium. At the end of the course unit the student should be able to:
- To apply the concept of chemical equilibrium to acid-base reactions, oxidation-reduction reactions and interpret solubility studies;
- Know and apply the rules of IUPAC nomenclature for organic compounds;
- Sort and identify most common organic functional groups;
- Predict the three-dimensional structure of organic molecules by applying the basic principles of bonding, hybridization and analysis of conformation.
