Learning outcomes |
This course aims to provide general basic knowledge of the theoretical fundaments, instrumentation and applications of instrumental methods.
At the end of this course, students should be able to: Know the basic principles, instrumentation and applications of UV-vis and IR molecular spectrophotometry,NMR, atomic absorption/emission spectroscopy, electroanalytical and chromatographic methods. Assess the benefits and limitations of different instrumental methods. Select an appropriate instrumental method to solve a particular problem in a case study, based on theoretical knowledge and using scientific literature as a resource. Critically interpret, explain and express accurately the analytical results. Describe and use basic analytical methods validation procedures.
