Learning outcomes This Unit aims the following purposes:
a) To dominate the general features of Urban and Regional Planning in Portugal;
b) To understand the Urban and Regional Planning proposals and to analyse the reason in
favour or against them;
c) To dominate the main features of the Spatial Planning and to understand the
urbanization process in Portugal;
d) Tounderstandthemainurbanmorphologicelementsandtheurbanmeasurements;
e) To recognize the main types of cities and the landmarks of their histories;
f) To understand the instruments, techniques-tools and models of Spatial Planning in
Portugal, and the development projects and to know how to apply their rules, in the context of Civil Engineering;
