The curricular unit of Study and Application of Special Concrete is an optional subject that aims to consolidate and to build upon knowledge acquired in the subject of Construction Materials II regarding to Normal Strength Concretes and provide new theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of mix design and properties of non-conventional concretes, namely, high-strength concrete, self-compacting concrete, light weight aggregate concrete, fiber reinforced concrete. The following competences will be developed in this curricular unit: a) Ability on technology of high-strength concrete; b) Ability on technology of self-compacting concrete; c) Knowledge on technology of light weight aggregate concrete; d) Knowledge on technology of fiber reinforced concrete.
