Learning outcomes Air Transport takes place in an increasingly complex environment due, on the one hand, to the diversity of the agents involved and, on the other hand, to the role it plays in terms of economic development.
The Economy and Management of Air Transport intends to frame this reality at national and international levels, seeking to develop in students, on the one hand, a critical reasoning around the subject and, on the other, the skills that allow them to take the most appropriate options if faced with decision-making processes in real life scenarios.
Syllabus Chapter 1. Importance of Transport: Systemic Perspective; Transport Planning; Mobility and Transport; Characteristics of Transport Systems; Accessibility and Transport; Transport and Sustainability; Globalization and Transport; Study cases.
Chapter 2. Transport Economics: Demand, Supply and Balance; Demand Sensitivity; Changes in Elasticities; Kraft model; Direct and Cross Elasticities; Surplus of Demand; Transport Offer; Associated Costs; Price Policies; Demand, Revenue and Expense Forecast; Exercises; Study cases.
3. Chapter 3. Air Transport Economics and Management: The Air Transport Industry, Air Transport Market and Services; Costs and Production; Air Transport Infrastructure; International Economy and Air Transport; Open Skies and Global Alliances policies; Market Structure and Monopolies; Forecast in Air Transport; Pricing Policy, Low Cost Airlines; Study cases.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Teaching Methodology: the classes are of a theoretical-practical nature using the resolution of exercises and the analysis of case studies that facilitate the understanding of the exposed subject. Diverse supporting documentation is distributed to students. Student’s Assessment: the process consists of a single evaluation moment, the Frequency and/or the Exam, graded on a scale of 0-20 values. There is no minimum grade for admission to the Exam, and students can use the Exam to improve the classification obtained by Frequency - always counting the best grade of both moments of assessment. The student will be approved in the UC as long as he/she obtains a classification equal to or higher than 9.5 values. During the semester there is no attendance control.
