Learning outcomes |
The course is, objectively, of integrating nature, allowing students to link aircraft design knowledge (acquired throughout the various course matters), to the two subsequent and fundamental phases of the life cycle of an aircraft, namely Manufacturing and Aircraft Maintenance. In this sense, students are given the opportunity to learn how from a theoretical/methodological point of view the industrialization of aeronautical products is made and how aircraft operators ensure compliance with the instructions for continued airworthiness, materialized in maintenance actions.

Syllabus |
AIRCRAFT MANUFACTURING: - The industrial structure in terms of national aircraft manufacturing capacity, the industrialization process of aircraft manufacturing, quality systems, aeronautical regulations; conventional manufacturing technologies: metallic and composite materials; non-conventional production technologies, ERP systems (from the engineering point of view); AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE: - The national industrial structure providing aircraft maintenance, aircraft maintenance programmes, implementation methodologies in aircraft support, aviation regulations, quality; technologies and processes for the regeneration of components. Lectures are complemented by visiting companies in the aeronautics sector.
