Learning outcomes It is intended that students learn the main technological processes and their suitability for obtaining organs and/or mechanical structures. At the end of the Curricular Unit, the student should be able to analyse which technological process is most suitable to obtain a part, demonstrate through numerical calculations the feasibility of the processes. Know how to differentiate the type of process according to the characteristics of the parts to be obtained.
Syllabus Quality Control in Mechanical Manufacturing;
Properties Change Processes: Thermal treatments;
Cutting Processes: burglary cutting and chip start cutting, milling, turning, drilling and others;
Mechanical Forming Processes;
Stamping, extrusion;
Metallurgical Forming Processes;

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Teaching uses the traditional method of exposure using slides. The laboratory component essentially aims to promote a critical spirit in relation to theoretical knowledge and its consolidation, but essentially to introduce self-learning.
Continuous evaluation:
- Individual worksheets carried out in a room right after the presentation of the material, with a weight of 10% in the final grade;
- A group work (3 to 4 elements), with a weight of 40% in the final grade;
- One frequency that cover all the material taught throughout the semester, with a weight of 50% in the final grade. In the several evaluation point, students will have to obtain a grade equal to or greater than 8.0, if they do not achieve it in one of the points, the students will go to the exam counting the grades of the worksheets of group.
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
