Learning outcomes It is intended that during the semester the students deepen a set of historical-artistic notions and concepts associated to the various artistic currents from the eighteenth century until the present (the period called Contemporary Age), and develop the necessary skills to relate the influence of art and design in the various cultural expressions of contemporary times.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria In this CU the participation in the classes and in the activities proposed during the semester is counted for assessment. It will be proposed a group theoretical work, focusing on the in-depth study of an artistic movement or on the work of a reference artist or designer within the period studied; will also be proposed a small individual work, which will focus on the critical analysis of a proposed film. There will be one assessment test.

The final grade will be calculated according to the following criteria:
• Individual work - 20%
• Group work - 30%
• Assessment test - 50%
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
