Learning outcomes |
This course unit aims to study the literary phenomenon from a comparative perspective, Portuguese as well as European and Universal, relating also literature with other arts, especially painting and cinema.
1. Demonstrate knowledge that expresses a multicultural vision of the literary phenomenon, exceeding the criterion of national borders, as well as allowing relating literature to other arts, either in the past or in contemporary times.
2. Reveal ability to discuss concepts such as “canon”, "Iberian literature", "European literature", "Western literature" and "World literature".
3. Prove a new and more open-minded way of understanding the dynamics of the Portuguese literary system.
4. Being able to perform a brief research work revealing the skill to identify, describe and explain a case of literary or inter-arts relationship.
