Learning outcomes |
These are specialization courses that are offered at UBI or in other national or international institutions a) To acquire advanced knowledge in a field of Pharmaceutical Sciences. b) To analyze the last scientific advances in a field of Pharmaceutical Sciences
After finishing the curricular unit the student must be able: a) To apply the acquired knowledge to develop the research activity related with the PhD project b) To use the knowledge and skills acquired to perform scientific experiments related with the PhD project.

Syllabus |
The PhD program offers different Advanced Courses that the students could choose: "Fluorescence microscopy and image analysis"; "DNA vaccines: from conception to approval"; "Medical structural biology"; "Hands on NMR course for cell metabolic profiling"; "Immunological techniques with applications in Biomedicine". The students can also choose Advanced Courses of post-graduation level from other institutions if they have at least 5 ECTS. The students that will choose Advanced Courses I and II must choose different courses in the two disciplines. The Advanced Courses II that took place: - Hands on NMR course for cell metabolic profiling

The bibliography is dependent on the nature of the Advanced Course. In each Course the bibliography contemplates the utilization of books and also scientific papers related with the different topics of the Advanced Course.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
The pedagogic methodology can differ depending on the specific Course, but it is mainly centered on the student, whose active participation in the learning process allows a higher development of their reasoning capabilities, self-learning and self-evaluation. Learning activities are developed in small groups, using convenient resources to achieve self-learning and involve the integration of information on recent research advances.
