Learning outcomes |
To find the main lines of theoretical and critical thinking that marked the paths of Design framing them in the various contexts, historical, social, economic and cultural. To convey the idea of the need to define the parameters in which the designer's activity is based, to the extent that this need allows students to become aware of the discipline and activity of design. Allow students to know the evolution of design and understand its implications in the social, economic and cultural fields. Transmit knowledge and theoretical tools of history and design theory, which allow to develop the critical and analytical spirit, confronting students with the realization of description sheets, analysis and contextualization of design objects. To raise in the students the reflection on the current trends of design, assuming our cultural reality, integrated in the program of exposed content that lead them to the understanding of design.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
The classes will be included in the presentation of the subject and will be accompanied, whenever deemed necessary, projections. The oral participation of the students will be encouraged. The evaluation will consist of a theoretical frequency of evaluation every six months, an individual work on a theme proposed by the student in the context of the design and agreement with the teacher and a group work that consists in the creation of theoretical and critical analysis sheets of products. The theoretical frequency focuses on the theoretical contents exposed in class. | Individual Work: performed on contextualized theme proposed by the student and will have a maximum of twenty pages | Group work: will be research on topics proposed by the students, maximum of 20 pages (15 analysis sheets of 15 design products proposed by the group elements). The Final Work will be sent/delivered in 2 copies, one in PDF and one in pptx (presented orally by the students). Frequency 40% | Individual work
