Know the main polymer processing techniques, their main characteristics and applications
Knowing how to select the most suitable processing technique for a given material/application
Understand the possibilities of polymer composition, as a technology that allows you to adjust the
characteristics of polymers available to processing and/or service requests
Understand the technological development of polymer processing and identify trends
future
Use the knowledge acquired in the selection of equipment, definition of operating conditions and in the
solving processing problems.
Syllabus 1. Polymers and processability
2. Extrusion (main extrusion lines and extruders - constructive, functional and operational aspects)
3. Composition (additivation, mixture and modification of polymers)
4. Injection Molding (technique and variants)
5. Other processing techniques (blow molding, thermoforming, rotational molding, …)
6. Additive manufacturing techniques (rapid prototyping, laser sintering, electrospinning…)
7. Composite processing
