Learning outcomes The unit Data acquisition aims to provide students with the basic concepts related to the data acquisition systems. Mainly, the main functions and characteristic of the elements that belong to the data acquisition systems, the main ways to transmit signal, and the architectures used to build data acquisition systems.
At the end of this course the student should be able to:
• Describe the different architectures of data acquisition systems and know how to select the most appropriate architecture for each problem;
•Interpret and apply the specifications of the main elements that compose the data acquisition signal chain;
• Describe the most important techniques of AD and DA conversion
• Describe the architecture of data acquisition systems;
• Design and configure data acquisition system based on fieldbus networks: the CANopen case;
- Design data acquisition systems for specific applications;
- Ability to operate with the laboratorial instrumentation;
