Understand thoroughly the concepts of innovation and technology, and to use the methods of technology management as well as acquire knowledge about the quantitative and qualitative methods most commonly used in technological forecasting in order to acquire the necessary skills to a professional who specializes in industrial management.

Generalities about innovation - definitions, Technological innovations - basic innovation; Taxonomy of innovations socio-economic impact; innovations and economic cycles; Long cycles – K-waves; Schumpeter model; General information on forecasting methods; technological forecasting - objective and subjective methods; logistic curves method of Fisher-Pry; Management Systems Innovation, Sustainable Innovation, Technology Management, Technological surveillance; Product Development Models; Delphi Technique; SWOT Analysis.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
Lectures and discussions on the case studies presented, reading of recommended scientific articles. Students should also develop a monograph on one of the research topics presented, or on another topic of their choice related to the program content. At the end of the semester the students will be submitted to a final test of verification (TF) and each student will present in class the results of their research (TI). Final classification (NF): NF = 0.5TF + 0.5TI.
