Learning outcomes Objectives:
To understand the concepts related to industrial occupational health and safety (IOHS), as well as the normative and voluntary documents and management tools in IOHS domain. On the other hand, to acquire skills to identify, assess and prevent hazards, as well as to monitor and prevent the main hazards substances.
Competences:
(a) To Recognise and understand concepts and knowledge related to Industrial Occupational, Health and Safety;
(b) To know the normative and voluntary documents s related to Industrial Occupational, Health and Safety.
(c) To obtain knowledge related to implementation of Occupational, Health and Safety management systems at Work.
(d) To obtain skills related to hazards identification and risk assessments.
(e) To identify the main hazardous substances and the available methodologies for its assessment and prevention.
Syllabus The syllabus allows the student to understand the concepts related to industrial occupational health and safety (IOHS), as well as the normative and voluntary documents and the management tools in IOHS domain. On the other hand, it enables students to acquire skills to identify, assess and prevent hazards, as well as to monitor and prevent the main hazardous substances:
­Chapter 1 provides the student recognition and understanding concepts and knowledge related to Industrial
Occupational, Health and Safety and to domain the normative and voluntary documents related to Industrial
Occupational, Health and Safety;
­Chapter 1 also provides the student the ability to obtain knowledge related to implementation of Occupational, Health and Safety management systems at Work;
­Chapters 2 and 3 provide the student the ability to obtain skills related to hazards identification and risk assessments;
­Chapter 3 also provides the student the ability to elaborate monitoring and emergency plans.
