Learning outcomes The curricular unit aims to provide an introduction to Public International Law, as well as develop interpretive skills to solve practical issues in this area. The focus is on a concrete analysis of the issues, through the study of jurisprudence and international practice and not merely the normative prescriptions.
Students learn the historical construction and the development of International Law and identify the main principles of international law. In addition, students should know the correct procedure for the adoption of Treaties, as well as the relationship between international and domestic laws. Students also identify subjects of international law and reflect about how the international organizations restricts national sovereignty. Students should be able to identify the main methods of conflict resolution and know the international regime for liability. Finally, students be able to recognize the international system for human rights protection.
