Learning outcomes |
a) To acquire competences related to the knowledge of the documentary sources and bibliographical research in the specific domain of the research in progress; b) To develop research competences in order to prepare a dissertation, monograph or traineeship report in Political Science; c) To develop oral and written presentation skills of research projects; d) Produce specialized and autonomous reflection around themes or problems in Political Science; e) To qualify for the practice of autonomous research and for scientific discussion and debate, developing theoretical-methodological skills in the area of the scientific specialization;

Syllabus |
At the Research Seminar students should: a) Make effective contact with theoretical and empirical research practices in Political Studies and Political Science ; b) Perform bibliographic research exercises in databases based on case studies; c) Structuring of monographic works on topical issues; d) Present of relevant projects and works in the field of Political Science by national researchers; e) Develop a research project presented in the form of a paper.

The bibliography will be advised according to the dissertation themes or the nature of the internship report, as well as conferences or other scientific or professional activities in which students are encouraged to participate.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
Normal evaluation scheme: participation in the working group responsible for the construction of the political science research congress, dedicated to young researchers and in the fortnichtly research seminars Alternative assessment scheme (dedicated to students who prefer research): two reports per semester, based on lectures, colloquia or seminars attended in the UBI; Assessment regime reserved for student workers: two reports each semester (fifteen pages + bibliography) on topics related to the process of preparation of the dissertation or internship reports. Students' choice of assessment scheme must take place before 9 October.
