- Know the geographical and historical causes of the diversity and the cultural strength of contemporary Brazilian cultural reality.
- Identify the popular and classical components of the various areas of contemporary Brazilian culture.
- Know the main trends of Brazilian contemporary literary and artistic manifestations.
- Prepare students for performing an original monograph in this area of knowledge in progressive regime autonomy of scientific research.

2. Geographical and historical causes of the diversity and cultural strength of contemporary Brazilian cultural reality.
3. Popular components of the various areas of contemporary Brazilian culture.
4. Erudite components of the various areas of contemporary Brazilian culture.
5. Communications between popular and erudite culture in Brasilian contemporary cultural reality.
6. Trends of contemporary Brazilian literature and theater. Canonized trends and contracultural trends.
7. Trends of contemporary Brazilian music and dance. Canonized trends and contracultural trends.
8. Trends of contemporary Brazilian architecture.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Theoric and pratical seminars, with lecture and discuss of diversal materials. The developemment of critical sense and autonomical studie of the documents adopted in seminars is crucial in this class.
The criteria of the evaluatin had been previously discussed with students, and it includes ,the making of one monographie (15 values) and its oral presentation (3 values), with the guiding support in class from the teacher about data aborded in the syllabus. It is counted also the active participation of students in classes (2 values maximum). The oral presentation and evaluation of the monohraphie will be made at the last lesson of the semester (19th January 2022).
The student has the possibility of present in exam one of his monographies, reelaborated.
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
