Learning outcomes |
To understand the workings of the human body at the level of the following issues:
- Elasticity of tendons, blood vessels, bones; - Significance and behaviour of fluids (blood, lymph, aqueous humour, cerebrospinal fluid, synovial fluid) in the human body; - Transport phenomena involving the blood, air and heat; - Importance of diffusion at the cellular level; - Transport phenomena across cell membranes; - Propagation of electrical signals in the human body (particularly along the axons); - Propagation of sound and electromagnetic waves (light)

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
The teaching consists of lectures and problem-solving classes. The students are asked to make homework assignments. This course lasts one semester and it includes 60 hours of contact with the professor, 92 hours of autonomous work and 8 hours for evaluation (total: 160 hours). The evaluation is performed in two stages: - Periodical assessment: two written theoretical and practical tests throughout the semester. - Final exam (with a theoretical and practical part) for admitted students. Evaluation methods and criteria: The final classification consists of the 2 written tests.
