Learning outcomes |
This CU approaches Design and, more accurately, Fashion Design in the contemporary world, considering its multiple political, ideological, social, cultural, ethical, and environmental ramifications and implications. Our goal is, therefore, not only to contribute to the understanding of Design through the connection with its theoretical foundations, its practice(s), and consequent impact in several and different dimensions, but also through its undeniable contribution to the definition of the contemporary culture — which, in itself, emphasizes the importance of its criticism. Hence, some of our main learning outcomes are: Recognizing how Design remains a problem in our contemporary world; Developing an analytical and critical perspective about Design applied to Fashion; Being able to truly differentiate Design and Fashion, as well as to critically understand its connection; Evaluating objects of Design through the dynamics that define their current value.
