The course unit aims to provide students with a comprehensive view of communication theories and has the following main objectives: 1 – Understanding and applying some of the main theoretical paradigms of communication, developing skills in critical analysis of media phenomena. 2 – Identifying and explaining fundamental theories in real-world contexts (advertising, news, social networks).

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
Through reading, interpreting, and commenting on texts, viewing audiovisual material, and subsequent discussion, the active participation of students is promoted, equipping them with useful knowledge for developing their research, reflection, and argumentation skills. Group work aims to foster autonomy and critical thinking. The individual assessment test will validate whether the student has acquired competencies in terms of knowledge and understanding of the curriculum content.
