Learning outcomes Provide students with a critical sense in the decisions taken at the level of economic policy;
Demonstrate an understanding the fundamental aspects of micro and macroeconomic theory;
Demonstrate capability of solving current problems in economics using the analytical tools presented in the classroom;
At the end of the semester, the student must show competence and understanding of basic theories that relate to this economic activity, including the capacity to solve and explain current policy issues that relate to this subject area.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The following methods and forms of study are used in this course: Using an in-class/distance learning approach, all methods and forms of study used in this course are designed to help students to better understand the main concepts presented by the economic environment.
To complement and reinforce concepts, lectures will be given primarily through slides, with discussions and classroom presentations. All content in lectures are assessable through UBI-Moodle.
There are intermediate and final controls in the course:
- The intermediate control includes the realization and presentation of a term paper and final test at the end of the semester.
- Students must have reached an overall score of 6.0 or more in the mid-term and final test to access the final exam. To pass the course overall, students must have 10.0 or more in the combined weighted score of the term paper and final test, or the final exam given at the end of the semester.
