To deepen knowledge and encourage reflection on gender issues, namely in the context of social exclusion processes and as an eminent dimension in social policies; To analyse recent developments in the social reality, legislation and attitudes of the Portuguese population regarding gender related issues, such as sexism, segregation or discrimination; Compare different societies from a gender perspective; Evaluate and interpret specific cases; At the end of the curricular unit, the students should be able to apply the knowledge and skills obtained in the processes of diagnosis and resolution of social problems.
