Learning outcomes |
1. To acquire general knowledge in microbiology and to know the microorganisms taxonomic position; 2. To know structural differences between microorganisms and their nutritional, growth and reproduction requirements; 3. To know the most important microorganisms related to human diseases and their mechanisms of pathogenicity: bacteria, fungi, virus and parasites; 4. To associate microorganisms to the caused infection and to know its implication in the human organism; 5. To know for each microorganism their characteristics implicated in investigation studies; 6. To recognize the importance of some microorganisms in the biotechnology development; 7. To understand and to perform laboratorial procedures commonly used in diagnosis and investigation microbiology.
