Learning outcomes 1) Reconize Arts research as a process of knowledge production. 2) Identify the "creative process" as a fundamental theme of arts research. 3) Understand and debate the "creativity of the process" of arts research through the film about art/artists.
Syllabus 1. Introduction: Research on, for, and in the arts. Artistic research VS artistic creation. Institutional context of research in the arts.
2. The creative process: the act of creation. From genetic criticism to process criticism. Research paradigms. Abductive thinking.
3. The creativity of the process: writing an essay based on a film about art/artists.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The assessment consists is as following:
1) Individual report of the event The Creative Process (the event took place in the first week ot the semester, under presential classes)
40% weight in the final classification.

2) Elaboration of an individual or co-authored work (2/3 members).
60% weight in the final classification.
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
