Learning outcomes After the successful completion of this curricular unit the student should be able to:
1. Define key concepts related to the pharmaceutical sciences and to medicines.
2. List and describe the major periods in the history of the pharmaceutical sciences.
3. Describe the historical evolution of pharmacy.
4. Identify the role of the pharmacist in retail and hospital pharmacy.
5. Discuss the pharmaceutical activity in the context of the national health care system.
6. Find, synthesize, organize, present and discuss information.
7. Integrate workgroups, showing respect, collaboration and participation attitudes.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The assessment during the teaching-learning period includes three written tests (F), the presentation and discussion of four projects (T), and forum participation (M).
The frequencies and final exam are made up of multiple-choice or short open answer questions.
Each frequency (F) has a maximum of 4 values.
Each project (T) has a maximum of 1,5 values.
Participation in forums (M) has a maximum of 2 values.
Final classification = F1 + F2 + F3 + T1 + T2 + T3 + T4 + M
Students who do not obtain approval during the teaching-learning period and who have a mark higher than 6 values may take an exam at the end of the semester, in which they must obtain 9.5 values for approval. In this case, the exam grade will be the final grade of the UC.
