Learning outcomes |
In this course unit we aim to give the student a perspective on the different professional areas where he will develop his activity. Upon successfully completing the Course of Introduction to Pharmaceutical Sciences II, the student would be able to: - identify the role of the pharmacist in different professional contexts: Industry and Regulatory Affairs, Clinical, Genetic and Chemical-Biological Analysis and Scientific Research - search for scientific information in the field of biological sciences/pharmaceutical sciences using the appropriate databases. - identify the different ways of disseminating scientific knowledge - use terminology appropriate to the pharmaceutical profession - synthesize information, organize it, present it to an audience and discuss it - demonstrate attitudes of respect, collaboration, participation in the proposed activities

The pharmaceutical profession: Industry and Regulatory Affairs, Clinical, Genetic and Chemical-Biological Analysis and Research. The Order of Pharmacists and its role in regulating the pharmaceutical profession. The scientific method. Scientific information search. Dissemination of scientific knowledge.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
Students must actively participate in the following activities: - tutorial classes where they search information and discuss aspects related to the pharmaceutical profession, organize information and prepares its presentation, discuss the use of scientific methodology, analyze scientific articles and discuss the main features of the different forms of dissemination of the scientific information; - lectures by professionals with experience in the different areas under analysis - presentation and discussion of group work on the themes addressed - Glossary of pharmaceutical terminology
Students will be assessed by group work (3 points, 15%), knowledge tests (15 points, 75%) and participation in the glossary (2 points, 10%). Final grade = (F1 + F2 + F3) + (T1 + T2 + T3) + G
