Learning outcomes Objectives:
1. To understand concepts related to the pharmaceutical sciences.
2. To give the student a perspective on the different professional areas where they will develop their activity.
3. To find, synthesize, organize, present, and discuss information.
4. To show respect, collaboration, and participation.

After the successful completion of this curricular unit the student should be able to:
1. Define key concepts related to the pharmaceutical sciences and to medicines.
2. Identify the role of the pharmacist in Clinical, Genetic and Chemical-Biological Analysis.
3. Identify the role of the pharmacist in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Pharmaceutical Distribution and Regulatory Agencies.
4. Identify the role of the pharmacist in Research and Development.
5. Find, synthesize, organize, present, and discuss information.
6. Use terminology appropriated to the pharmaceutical profession.
7. Integrate workgroups, showing respect, collaboration, and participation attitudes.

2. Pharmaceutical Industry and Pharmaceutical Distribution – professional, regulatory, and technical aspects.
3. Regulatory Agencies – professional, regulatory, and technical aspects.
4. Scientific Research – research and dissemination of scientific knowledge.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The assessment during the teaching-learning period includes three written tests (F), the presentation and discussion of three group projects (T), and activities available in the Moodle platform (M).
The frequencies and final exam are made up of multiple-choice or short open-answer questions. Each frequency (F) has a maximum of 4 values. Each project (T) has a maximum of 2 values. Participation in Moodle activities (M) has a maximum of 2 values. The following parameters will be evaluated in each project: a) approach to the theme, b) ability to synthesize, c) clarity and organization of the exposition, d) graphic appearance, e) time spent and f) ability to discuss.
Final classification = F1 + F2 + F3 + T1 + T2 + T3 + M
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
