Learning outcomes |
This course unit aims to describe and integrate the knowledge concerning the organs and cells of the blood and the Immune, Digestive, Endocrine, and Uro-genital systems, as well as their specialized functions in the human body. By the end of this course the students must be able: 1.To identify the blood components and functions. 2.To describe the anatomy, embryology, histology, and physiology of the organs belonging to the Digestive, endocrine, Uro-genital, and Immune Systems in human beings. 3.To establish the relationship between the anatomy and the physiology of the studied organs in order to later demonstrate the potential site of action and effects of drugs.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
In theoretical classes, teachers continually encourage student discussion and participation. In tutorial classes, students work in groups, and the contents are discussed among everyone under the teacher's guidance. The knowledge acquired about anatomy and physiology in theoretical classes is articulated and facilitated by practical classes, where students' active participation is required, and the results must be discussed. In this context, assessment criteria include tests, mini-tests, and group work. Each of the 4 blocks contributes 25% to the final grade. The attendance at the 4 tests is mandatory (in the case of student workers, if they cannot attend any of the dates, an alternative date will be scheduled).
