Entry requirements To have basic knowledge on physiopathology and pharmacology.
Learning outcomes To know aspects of animal anatomophysiology, pathology and pharmacotherapy, the main groups of veterinary medicines and the legislative and public health aspects inherent to their use, both in prevention and treatment. To acquire specific training on the various circuit steps of major veterinary medicines and products to enable the student to know how to prepare, store, distribute, advise, dispense and administer them.
Syllabus 1. Introduction to basic concepts, legislation, economic and hygienic/sanitary aspects 2. Common pathologies in slaughter, farmed and companion animals and relevant zoonoses 3. Veterinary pharmacology and therapy 4. Pharmaceutical forms and administration of veterinary medicinal products (MUV) 5. Industrial production, storage, distribution and marketing of MUV 6. Veterinary Toxicology and residues of medicaments in food-producing animals 7. Community Pharmacy Perspective

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Teaching will be through theoretical-practical classes, involving interactive seminars and practical applications.
Score = frequency grade or exam grade
In addition to the minimum attendance fulfilled, for granting frequency, it is mandatory to perform the frequency and have a score of not less than 6 in it.
Student workers must participate in all times of assessment.
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
