Learning outcomes The main objective of this CU is to develop one of the following options:
- a research work in game design and development;
- a project of design and/or development of games;
in any case, integrate the knowledge acquired in the different areas of the course.
Under the guidance of a professor, the students should develop their capacity of initiative, power of synthesis,
and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
At the end of this course unit the students should be able to synthesize and present in public the topics
addressed along the course, be ready for lifelong learning, and produce innovative results in the area.
Syllabus The syllabus will depend on the topics chosen by the students.
However, each student is supposed, with the support of the advisor, to complete the following steps:
- Survey of the state of the art;
- Selection of work methodology;
- Development of the theoretical and practical work;
- Development of experiments and data collection;
- Analysis of the collected data;
- Writing of a dissertation or report of project/internship.
Main Bibliography The bibliography includes the documentation needed to write the master thesis/report.
It can also include books, papers, web pages or documentation provided by the supervisor for the chosen topic.
Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Writing a dissertation of master degree about a topic or a videogame design and development problem, guided by a professor from the course; elaboration of a project report guided by a professor of the course; elaboration of a internship report guided by a professor of the course.
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
