Learning outcomes Acquisition of expertise to be able to know and to apply the law and legal principles at the commercial activity and the interaction with consumers. In addition, students should know the advertising law, copyright, consumer rights, sales rules, data protection, web-marketing and e-commerce.

At the end of the course, students must be able to identify and apply the advertising law, consumer contracts, sales rules, personal data, consumer rights, and regulation of contracts concluded at the Internet.

The student will be enabled to solve practical cases using the normative texts.
Syllabus 1. BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO LAW

2. LEGAL FRAMEWORK OF PUBLICITY. Principles of advertising law. Misleading advertising. Surreptitious or disguised advertising. Restrictions on the content and object of the message. Advertising contracts. Protection and liability in advertising. 3. COPYRIGHT PROTECTION IN ADVERTISING.

4. CONSUMER LAW: Consumer rights. Unfair commercial practices. Contractual relevance of advertising messages and labels. Unfair contractual terms. Distance and off-premises contracts. Sale of consumer goods. Objective responsibility of the producer. Legal regime of price fixing. Means of redress.

5. WEB-MARKETING AND LEGAL REGIME OF ELECTRONIC COMMERCE. Service providers. Web advertising and direct marketing. SPAM. Consumer protection in contracts concluded over the Internet.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The theoretical-practical methodology is suitable for the pursuit of the objectives of this course. Thus, the concepts of law and legal systems are presented through a theoretical exposition. At the end of the course, it is intended that the student is able to solve practical cases with the correct application of the legislation in force. This objective is achieved in the following way: students are invited
in practical classes, to make contact with the main normative texts. Students are challenged, within the framework of continuous assessment, to perform and present analytical work, and to solve practical cases using the applicable legislation.
