Learning outcomes |
The purpose of this CU is to deepen the study of various topics within the Quality Management, in the context of the development of research in this area. Students should: Identify and discuss the concept of quality in their various perspectives and in their historical evolution and the different approaches of quality implementation by the organizations; Identify and explain the fundamental concepts and principles underlying Total Quality Management (TQM) and the latest approaches to quality; Study, analyze and discuss cases of implementation of these approaches in different organizational settings; Know the fundamental aspects of the implementation of certification of quality management systems and other systems according to ISO standards; Analyze and present recent research developments in the area of Quality Management.

Main Bibliography |
Given the characteristics of the course development, the bibliography is diverse and specific to each subject to be developed by each student. Therefore, each student would have to search for relevant papers for his research in the databases of scientific journals, under the guidance of the teachers.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
Students should write a research paper in which, at least, a literature review is required on a specific topic. This article, in its final version, should be presented in public. The paper development will involve four phases: (1) Presentation of the initial project; (2) Presentation and discussion of a scientific article, considered as central to the research; (3) Research progress, and (4) Final presentation. In all these phases there will be a presentation and sharing and discussion with the teacher and colleagues.
The final evaluation will %into account five components: • Initial project: 10% • Presentation / discussion of a core scientific paper: 20% • Research progress: 10% • Final paper: 50% • Participation: 10%
