Scientific area Ciências Exatas
Entry requirements Do not have.
Learning outcomes The curricular unit 'Geometry and Representation I' has as its main objective, contributing to the development of a spatial reasoning and vision in the sense of the conception and representation of the architectural physical space, with the use of graphic language and Technique of representation of the real space and imagined.
This curricular unit has as specific objectives, on the one hand, to equip the student with notions of geometry and composition of the physical space and, on the other hand, to equip the student with methodologies and tools of representation through the standardized analog technical design.
It intends to foster in the student, the sensitivity and the capacity of imagination and composition of the architectural space, at the same time, by donating the tools of accurate representation of geometric basis, the technical design and the volumetric relations of the forms that are intended to communicate.
Syllabus REPRESENTATION SYSTEMS-Projection as geometric transformation; Introduction to different representation systems; Orthogonal representation of three-dimensional composite shapes and architectural spaces.
INTRODUCTION TO PROJETIVE GEOMETRY: Geometry and Architecture. Flat Geometry: Point, straight and flat. Figures and Angles. Listed projections and topography. Three-dimensional geometry of simple and superimposed solids. Representation of the European and American Method. Orthogonal projections of straight, oblique and curved models. Axonometric representation systems of straight, oblique and curved models. Cuts and Sections. Dimensioning and Shadows.
