Learning outcomes The Drawing Unit promote the development of the cognitive capacities of conception/representation through the development of handmade drawings and has, in the second semester, the following objectives:
Continue to: develop the capacity for observation and visual memory of the objective and subjective world; develop the manual dexterity and skill, through the knowledge of the act of drawing and its plastic, icon-plastic and iconic values.
Acknowledging: drawing as an intentional selection in a experimental process where we learn drawing in a subjective matrix process;
Understand and be able of representing the architectural concepts of tectonic and stereotomic, and the regulator principles of scale, proportion, rhythm and movement, hierarchy, balance/equilibrium, light and color, materiality and texture, etc.
Understand the typological, topological and syntactic meaning of architectural space in representation, both in its organization and in inter-spatial connections.
Syllabus The syllabus is developed in three moments according to the observable universe of the student: 1. Discovery and invention - development of the suggestive capacity of materials in spatial imagination; 2. The stereotomic and tectonic space - development of the capacity for observation and expression; 3. The process of design and drawing - development of architectural design thinking through drawing. Alongside these moments and respective exercises, the following concepts will be developed and applied: light and color, materiality and texture, scale and alterity relation, proportion and identity, rhythm and movement, aggregation and composition, gravity and lightness, proximity and discontinuity.
