Learning outcomes |
The curricular unit of Building Physics aims to provide theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of thermal behaviour of buildings, acoustic behaviour of buildings, and fire safety in buildings. The following competencies will be developed in this curricular unit: a) Knowledge on thermo-hygrometric comfort parameters, climatic parameters and building thermal envelope; b) Knowledge on heat transfer phenomenon; c) Ability on calculation of the physical parameters of the opaque and glazed elements, the parameters associated to the thermal inertia and air renewal; d) Knowledge on energetic balances in building, legislation and on thermal design of residential buildings; e) Ability on acoustic correction process, air and impact sound transmissions in buildings; f) Knowledge of the legislation and on the acoustic design of buildings; g) Recognition of the impact of fire safety regulation on building architecture.
