Learning outcomes |
1) Offer a general perspective of the communication services diversity; 2) Know the workings of the underlying protocols of communication services; 3) Enable students to install, operation, and maintenance of systems and corresponding communication services.
At the end of this course unit a student should be able to know communication services and their operation mode. Students should be able to perform the installation, operation, and maintenance of systems and corresponding communication services.

1. Introduction to Network and Systems Administration 2. Components of a Systems 3. Servers 4. Storage 5 .Networking 6. Linux Systems Management: Execution Levels and Services, Representation and creation of Users and Groups; Quota Management; TCP/IP configuration; Log Management; Task Scheduling; Kernel, Modules and Boot Loaders, File Systems, Backups, Servers. 7. Network Services: DNS (Domain Name System), NTP (Network Time Protocol), DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), Servidor WWW Apache, Email, NFS (Network File System), VPN access. 8.
