Learning outcomes This curricular unit is an optional subject that intends to transmit advanced knowledge in the area of road materials. The overall objective is to consolidate and deepen knowledge in the field of paving materials characterization and their modeling.
The following competencies will be developed:
a) Ability on the state of the art research in Road Paving Materials
b) Knowledge of the main deformation and fatigue mechanisms of bituminous materials
c) Ability of the procedures of physical modeling of road paving materials
d) Knowledge of the numerical tools required for road paving materials modeling

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria This curricular unit is taught in tutorial mode where the student should develop independent work (theoretical, experimental or modeling research) based on the curricular unit program. Teaching involves tutorial and discussion sessions, the evaluation being carried out by one or more works classified according to their quality (valued by the writing of a scientific paper).
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
