Learning outcomes This curricular unit is designed to provide an introduction to Models and Methods of Psychological Intervention. It intends to establish a greater understanding of the main theoretical paradigms and methods underlying behavioral, cognitive and constructivist therapies.

At the end of this curricular unit, student should be able to:
(1)Describe and explain the behaviorist, cognitive and constructivist paradigms;
(2)Demonstrate knowledge about the application of their theoretical assumptions to psychological intervention;
(3) Conduct a cognitive-behavioral functional analysis;
(4)Identify the major therapeutic methods underlying the models studied;
(5) Analyze case studies and synthesize scientific literature for the integration and application of knowledge.
(6) Communicate ideas, problems and solutions, resulting from the activities of analysis, synthesis and reflection carried out individually and in group.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Teaching methodologies
Lectures and theoretical-practical sessions, including group reading of scientific literature, in-class activities and group assignments with presentation and discussion.

Evaluation:
2 tests to assess general knowledge. (12/04 and 31/05) - 45%+45%
In-class activities and group assignments with presentations and discussion - 10%
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
