Learning outcomes |
This UC has the following objectives:
- Allow students to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to address the prevalent health problems in General and Family Medicine and its context of practice, in particular cardiovascular, digestive, endocrinological, respiratory and locomotor problems.
- Allow students to acquire the necessary skills to carry out a patient-centered consultation according to the General and Family Medicine Consultation model.
- Allow students to know how to make records in an appointment through the Problem Oriented Medical Record, with appropriate SOAP progressive clinical notes and coding with the ICPC Classification.
- Allow students to acquire communication skills with the person.
- Allow students to come into contact with the concepts of Ethics and Quaternary and Quinquennial Prevention; describe and use knowledge of clinical management of Multimorbidity and Polypharmacotherapy, Person-Centered Medicine and Chronic Pain Therapy.

Syllabus |
1. Consultation in a General and Family Medicine environment according to the SOAP method, Complementary Means of Diagnosis and Treatment, Communication and Patient Safety. 2. Cardiovascular, digestive, endocrinological and respiratory diseases within the scope of General and Family Medicine. 3. Pathologies of the locomotor system in the context of General and Family Medicine. 4. Mental Health: Dementias, Depressive Syndromes and Anxiety Disorders in the context of General Practice. 5. Proper management of chronic pain. 6. Person-Centered Medicine. 7. Medical empathy. 8. Multimorbidity and Polypharmacotherapy Management. 9. Ethics and Quaternary and Quinquennial Prevention.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
Learning is essentially carried out in a clinical context, which allows the obtaining of clinical cases, the carrying out of objective examinations of the people who consult, the observation and interpretation of complementary diagnostic tests, including follow-up notes and classification of records. Parallel to the clinical activities, seminars and tutorials are held to discuss theoretical aspects related to the observed pathologies. The learning of procedures is carried out in a clinical context. Assessment Methods and Criteria: Knowledge assessment: Multiple Choice Test (50%); Competence assessment: Performance assessment: Tutor (25%). Chronic pain (25%).
