Learning outcomes Enable the student to prepare a health research proposal and enable him to do a project that serves as the basis for the Master's dissertation.
Integrate topics of interest to the student under the guidance of researchers and/or clinical specialists
Be in contact with laboratory and research techniques and methodologies, integrating acquired knowledge with current scientific topics
Demonstrates reasoning ability based on the knowledge acquired with current scientific topics
Develop teamwork skills in problem-solving and knowledge acquisition, as well as creative and critical skills
Syllabus In introduction to the investigation, the different stages of the scientific method will be discussed; problems, review of relevant bibliography, computer and bibliographic resources including information management, hypotheses to be tested in research, quantitative and qualitative methodologies, rules on the UBI master's thesis, different levels of research; basic, translational, clinical, informational; monograph, systematic review, meta-analysis, development of research projects, research strategies, health research environment at UBI, Portugal Europe. Research support structures; Foundation for Science and Technology and Agency for Scientific Innovation and Biomedical Research.
The student can opt for a laboratory research module or a clinical module lasting one week. Laboratory research modules and clinical modules will address the syllabus taught in the 3rd year
